WHAT IS AIR CONDITIONING?

A car air conditioning system cools the temperature inside your car and helps to filter out pollen, pollutants and airborne bacteria.

The AC system works similar to a fridge, the air is cooled with a refrigerant gas (either R134a or R1234yf) and then circulates through your vehicle via vents.

HOW OFTEN DOES MY CAR'S AIR-CONDITIONING NEED RE-GASSING?

Recommendations from most vehicle manufacturers state that the A/C system requires re-gassing (servicing) every two years. This is due to your vehicle dissipating 10-15% of its A/C gas annually without it even being switched on.

Whilst re-gassing the A/C system, the entirety of the system will be serviced and decontaminated making it bacteria and odour free. This service involves removing moisture from the system which is a breeding ground for bacteria which usually results in bad odours.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO RE-GAS MY CAR'S AIR-CON?

Re-gassing a vehicle air-conditioning system generally takes 45 minutes to complete if there are no faults within the system.

WHY IS MY AIR-CONDITIONING NOT WORKING?

The most likely cause of your vehicles A/C system not working is that there is unlikely to be any gas within the system.

CAN I RE-GAS MY OWN VEHICLES AIR-CONDITIONING SYSTEM?

No! – Training and assessment by a credited official are required in order to obtain the qualification and licence necessary to purchase and handle any type of vehicle air-conditioning gas. Our team are fully trained and qualified in the safe handling of these gasses.
